here are various educational and professional development opportunities administrators can take advantage of, including the Early Childhood Program Administrator’s Institute, and the WAGE$ program.

ECPAI

ECPAI (Early Childhood Program Administrator’s Institute) offers administrators a free, year-long management and business leadership training program. Miami-Dade College adjunct professors teach three college courses, each worth three credits. The courses also satisfy educational requirements for the Advanced-Level Child Care and Education Administrator Credential.

Coursework focuses on:

enhancing management and leadership skills
fiscal administration of an early childhood program
recruiting, selecting and orienting staff
implementing shared decision making and participative management
understanding, conducting and evaluating effectiveness of meetings

Registration takes place during the summer. Classes are offered at Miami Dade College North Campus, United Way Center for Excellence in Early Education and Miami Dade College South Campus. To apply, visit www.qccareers.org/ecpai.php.
